Kota Kinabalu International Airport Terminal One. Malaysia Airline aircraft will land and depart from this terminal. I heard Airasia will also use this terminal when it is fully ready. At the moment, Airasia is using Terminal Two for landing and departing.

Kinabalu from the air

I received an email from one of our newsletter subscriber, sharing some of his photos on Kinabalu from the air. Enjoy!

Hello Drizad (if that’s your real name),

I have been recieving your newsletter for afew years now and enjoying them every time. You see , my brother and I grew up in Brunei (Panaga), and since 2001 we came back to Borneo 5 times together with my father (my mother Died of cancer in 2000).
We stayed in KK every time and made trips back to Panaga and Miri and so on.
In 2003 my brother and I climbed Mt. Kinabalu, and we made it to the top! (I was 52 and my brother 49).
So that explains our interest for THE MOUNTAIN.
I also made some shots of Mt. kinabalu on a flight to Sandakan just like you and would like to share them with you.
If you are interested Ican also mail some shots of our climbing, and the fantastic sunrise on the top.
Well first some pictures from the plane (Malaysian Airlines)
Hope to hear from you,

Greetings and best regards

Full body wash and vacuum only RM15. Those two kids remind me of my good old days – helping my uncle to do some contract jobs during school holiday. My car needs some pampering after a trip to Kundasang.

Perodua VIVA – One of Malaysian made car. Small compact car, a lot of these can be seen on Malaysian road, as the price is one of the lowest. On the background is “Little Italy” restaurant, I must say that it’s one of the best place to have Italian pizza and spaghetti in Kota Kinabalu. On the far right is one of the oldest shopping complex in Kota Kinabalu – “Wisma Merdeka”.

Pulau Gaya village settlement (upper left) seen from 4th floor parking lot of Suria Sabah. Seen from where I park my car everyday for work. Weather is still a bit cloudy. The blue and white boats belongs to the Royal Malaysia Police. It’s the police jetty.

Not an unusual sight if you travel to interior of Sabah. This photo was taken on my way out from Kampung Narandang, Kanibongan, Pitas. Have to be very careful not to crash onto them. Otherwise I have to pay for it.
