How I change my Adsense payee name to get paid through Western Union

I registered my Adsense check name as “Ruhaizad Daud” and have been receiving my monthly checks for the past 1 year, and I don’t have any problem with clearing the check through my Maybank2u.com account.

Until recently when Google Adsense announced that they are going to start paying publishers through Western Union, I was really excited as I don’t have to wait for 4 weeks anymore for the payment to get cleared!

However, I notice that my Adsense payee name is NOT the same as my Mykad. My name on my Mykad is “Ruhaizad bin Daud”, and I heard from LiewCF blog, Western Union will not cash out my money, if the Adsense payee name is not the same with what stated on Mykad, I won’t be able to cash my money out.

Western Union

Thanks to LiewCF, he gave a very good post on how to request for a change of my Adsense payee name.

I will hereby write about how efficient Google is on updating my account payee name. The whole process took less that 3 days, considering the time that I requested was during the weekend.

After sending Google an email through their Adsense Help Center, I received a reply from Christina, one of The Google Adsense Team who managed my issue. This is what the email look like:

Hi,

Thank you for your email. I’ll be happy to work with you to update your
payee name.

In order to initiate this process, please reply to this email and include
the answer to each of the following questions. This will help us ensure
the privacy and security of your AdSense account.

1 – Have you ever received an AdSense payment? If so, what was the amount
of your most recent payment?
2 – What was the first day you received a page impression?
3 – How many page impressions did you get on your first day?
4 – What’s your new payee name?

You can find some of this information by logging into your account and
checking your advanced reports. In your response, please also include your
updated payee name exactly as you wish it to appear in the future. Once
you’ve replied and we’ve updated your account information, please be aware
that you’ll need to re-enter your tax information and form of payment.

Also, please note that we start processing payments on the 16th of each
month. If you’re scheduled to receive a payment this month and your
account information is updated after the 16th, your payment will be issued
to your previous payee name. So, if you’re scheduled to receive a payment
this month and won’t be able to accept it, please let us know.

Once I receive your response, I’ll correct your account information to
reflect your new payee name.

For additional questions, I’d encourage you to visit the AdSense Help

I then replied to them with this email:

1. Yes, I have received Adsense payment before. The amount for the
most recent payment is $XXX.XX on 24 September 2007.
2. The first day that I received my first impression was 24 XXXXX 2006.
3. XX impressions.
4. Ruhaizad bin Daud

Please change my Payee Name to Ruhaizad bin Daud.

Thank you.

Regards,
Ruhaizad bin Daud

It took another day for them to reply to me with this email:

The Google AdSense Team

I immediately followed her instruction above to resubmit my tax information and change my selection of my form of payment.

Done with the Google request. Now I have to look for Western Union agent here in Kota Kinabalu to get my money out.

Upon checking the Western Union official website, I notice that most RHB Bank and CIMB Bank (previously BCB) are official Western Union agents. Luckily I got both banks just around the corner nearby my clinic.

So, have you changed yours?

If you’re serious about growing your online blogging business

If you have been into internet marketing long enough, I bet you must have heard about Rich Schefren. I downloaded his latest report on Attention Age Doctrine. It really blew up my mind when I read about:

  1. How most of internet marketers failed nowadays NOT because of lack of information, but because of OVERLOADED and CONFUSED with all the information that are available in the internet.
  2. All the rules of business growth, marketing effectiveness and personal performance HAVE CHANGED with the birth of ATTENTION ECONOMY.
  3. Why the Information Age is ALREADY OVER.
  4. Why trying to keep up with the latest information will only keep us DUMBER.
  5. How to THRIVE with information overload.
  6. Why people are getting DUMBER with each new technology release.
  7. What is INTERRUPTION AGE as compared with COMMUNICATION AGE?
  8. Too Many Options Will Paralyze, Delude, Waste Time & Disappoint us.

The other reason why I really interested with Rich’s report is that I saw my mentor’s name, Yaro Starak as one of his student. I am a registered member of Yaro’s Blogmastermind, which I joined couple of weeks back.

For your information, Yaro’s Blogmastermind membership program is a learning class for BLOGGERS who have the vision of becoming a “Professional Blogger” (like Darren Rowse), and how to treat BLOGGING AS A BUSINESS.

If you have a blog and want to get the most out of your blog, I really recommend you to download FREE Yaro’s Blog Profits Blueprint and better still, join his mentoring and teaching class with Blogmastermind. It worth every penny.

Agloco Viewbar is on!

At last… The long waited Agloco Viewbar is now available for download. There were mixed review about Agloco, some of it were negative, and some positive. The reviews were mostly based on previous performance of so-called the “original” Agloco, few years back, which were not so positive.

However, I downloaded and installed it anyway. I will run it for a certain period of time, and test it. Hopefully this rebranded and reformed new “Paid to Surf” program will do better and have learned from their mistakes in the past.

For those who do not know what is Agloco: In my opinion, Agloco is a way of earning money while you do your daily surfing activities on the net. You just have to register yourself and download a viewbar and install it. The viewbar contains advertisement, which will be the one who give you the money. You can also earn money by referring your friends to Agloco. It contains NO spyware and NO adware (I have checked with Spybot and SpywareBlaster), so none of your browsing habit is monitored…

So, what are you waiting for? Click HERE to register with Agloco and start earn money instantly!

Successful money transfer from PayPal to my E*Trade account

Unending (or non ending?) challenge for Malaysian citizen who have (have to!) PayPal account – unable to withdraw the money from PayPal account directly – unless they do either:

  1. Have an E*Trade Brokerage account.
  2. Use Virtual Money Inc. debit card.

And to make it even worse, lately, PayPal have reviewed back the account which connected to VMI debit card. It seems that PayPal claimed that VMI is not a financial institution, and PayPal sniffed that most of Asian countries which is not certified and high fraudulent rate (like Malaysia) use it to take their money out. Hmmm…. it makes our life even more difficult eh?

Me? Luckily, I received E*Trade Platinum Debit Card last week. After activating, it took me another few days of experimenting the validity of the card and at last, I managed to transfer the funds from PayPal to my E*Trade account this morning. It took 4 days for the transaction to be completed. Here is the screenshot:

PayPal

My PayPal account…

E*TRADE Financial

My E*Trade account…

So, if you still do not have an account, apply for E*Trade. It took me 9 months waiting for the card. I guess it’s worth a wait!

I received my Platinum Visa Debit Card from E*Trade

I received 3 parcels from FedEx couple of days back, which was separately loaded with 2 Platinum Visa Debit Card and 1 PIN number. I was really surprised, as I expect to receive the parcels in a month. But E*Trade send it in just 5 days!!!

I load USD4.50 on my E*Trade brokerage account from PayPal before I requested them to send me the card. It seems that the regulation for you to have USD1000 in the account before you can get the card is not quite correct. You CAN get the card although you only have less than USD10 in the account.

Next, the activation phase. It seems the toll free number that E*Trade give us is not valid if you call from Malaysia. AT&T could not connect you to E*Trade’s card activation personnel although E*Trade claimed that the call that we made from Malaysia is free. They even mentioned to me that I may have to bear the cost of calling to activate the account from E*Trade.

Hmmm… I was thinking of having an iTalk prepaid card from TM to make the call, as it will be cheaper to call to US from Sabah. It took me 2 hours to realize that I can make the call for free – with Skype! I know, it is silly for me to uninstall Skype few months back, but knowing that it will cost me nothing to call from my notebook to US, I installed the old version of Skype from my software archive folder. Well, although it is not the latest one, I still can make the call, and the activation of my Platinum Visa Debit Card from E*Trade took only 10 seconds! Gosh! That was really, really fast! Oh, it did not cost me anything also!

Next, would be the moment of truth. To make sure my platinum card IS activated and working. Yesterday, I drop by HSBC ATM on my way to the clinic. Guess what? The card in working fine! However, it only showed USD3.70, not USD4.70 as stated in my internet account. That was strange.

But anyway, I am quite happy to know that I have an option to suck out all my money from PayPal through E*Trade. I will try to cash out small amount of money first, before I go for the bigger one.

Wait for my findings…

Get paid to surf with Agloco!

I recently joined AGLOCO because of a friend recommended it to me. I am now promoting it to you because I like the idea and I want you to share in what I think will be an exciting new Internet concept.

Get paid to surf with Agloco!

AGLOCO’s story is simple:

Do you realize how valuable you are? Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf. How much of that money are you making? NONE!

AGLOCO thinks you deserve a piece of the action.

AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members. (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user. And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube’s users did not get paid for!

AGLOCO will work to get its Members their share of this and more.

AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network. They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they’re building a community that will generate the kind of fortune that YouTube made. But instead of that wealth making only a few people rich, the entire community will get its share.

What’s the catch? No catch – no spyware, no pop-ups and no spam – membership and software are free and AGLOCO is 100% member owned. Privacy is a core value and AGLOCO never sells or rents member information.

So do both of us a favor: Sign up for AGLOCO right now! If you use this link to sign up, I automatically get credit for referring you and helping to build AGLOCO. http://www.agloco.com/r/BBDN2030

Can Bidvertiser replace Adsense?

BidvertiserWell, we actually have an obvious answer. Adsense is the gold standard of Pay Per Click advertisement campaign for almost any website. However, I just would like to highlight few Bidvertiser features that might be attractive to you!

  1. Good as an alternative and maybe replacement to Adsense, if you happen to be blacklisted by Google.
  2. The pay per click cost seems to be higher in some of the selected campaign theme that is run by Bidvertiser.
  3. It pays using Paypal, and has a low payout, i.e. USD10, compared to Adsense (USD100) and they pay by check.
  4. You can know which advertiser bid the highest on the specific campaign.
  5. Higher referral program payment.

Running test – Malaysian ads for bloggers

If you notice this blog, I am currently running two advertisement for bloggers from 2 different Malaysian advertising company for bloggers. Advertlets and Nuffnang (please see the sidebar) have been serving their ads for the past 8 days on this blog.

Update: Currently, only Advertlets has shown the ads from one of the advertiser (Exabytes), but Nuffnang still shown their default Nuffnang banner. So far, only Advertlets have generated some money:

How can a Malaysian open a US bank account?

I received an email from E*TRADE Hong Kong this morning, informing me about their Chinese New Year Customer Service Hours. Ironically, I have not get any formal reply from E*TRADE US about my application, which I sent 9 months ago. So, basically, I am in their database as one of their customer, but I did not get my account number and user ID.

E*TRADE FinancialWell, as it is still morning here in this part of the world, I decided to call E*TRADE Hong Kong to ask about my application. The customer service center answer my phone call, (which I use iTalk from TM) very professionally and prompt. I only manage to give him my full name and last 4 digit of my account (it was stated in the email), as he required that info to check whether I am one of their customer or not. It only took him less than 2 minutes to process my queries, and after answering few security questions (mostly my personal info), he gave me the account number, my user ID and password. Now I have a US bank account!

You may asked me why I need a US bank account? Well, to tell you the truth, US authority have a very strict rule on foreigners opening a bank account in US after the September 11 tragedy. It includes Malaysia, which is an unfortunate. Opening a US bank account is important for those who deals with internet marketing, i.e. handling international money around the internet. By having an account in US, it will be easy for us Malaysian to handle the money, as most giant companies in the net requires the internet marketer to have an account (like Paypal) to withdraw your ‘frozen money’.

If you are Malaysian, and search the net for US bank account to be open, you can found none. E*TRADE is the only financial institution in US that enable you to have one account, whereby you can use it to do a telegraphic transfer (TT) to your local banks. It is not a bank. We just use one of their finacial service to get the money keep before it is transfer it to our account.

I don’t know about you. I use E*TRADE as one of the tools for me to receive money from international travelers who would like to ask me to help them book a package or accommodation for their Mount Kinabalu adventure travel.

Are they reliable? Well, we have to see that. I guess…

MyeMoney – Change your Paypal money to Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)

It’s known that if you have money in Paypal account, and you are Malaysian, its difficult (almost impossible) for you to cash your money out. I have been using Paypal for the past 1 year, and I have to buy something in the net so that I get some benefit from the so called ‘frozen money’. It was not until I found a website owner which kind of ‘trade’ our Paypal money. His name is James, and he run the website http://www.myemoney.biz/

I just would like to share with you my good experience while trading with James. His reply was prompt and professional. I got my Paypal money cash out in less than an hour!

I will show you the evidence of his reliability:

This is the receipt that I received after I fill in the form in his website, requesting for exchange my Paypal money to Ringgit Malaysia (RM or internationally known as MYR).

MyeMoney

After few minutes, I received an email, requesting me to transfer my Paypal money to his account.

Request for money (Paypal email)

After few automated email from Paypal stating that I send and he received the money, I received an email from James saying that he transferred the amount of money I requested in my Maybank2u.com account. All of the above process took me less than an hour.

Maybank receipt

So, if you have some ‘loose’ money inside Paypal, and do not know how to go about it, why not ask James for a favour. Although it’s not free, I don’t mind paying him 5% paying charges for the service that he give.

Verdict: I will give 5/5!
