Hi Drizad, nice website you have here. My whole family of 4 climbed Mt K in 2004 and on 15th of July this year, me and hubby managed to climb to the summit within a day. Weather forecast for that day was sunny in the morning and thunder storm in the afternoon and we took the chance to continue to the summit. It was cloudy when we reached the summit. It started to rain after we have taken some photos and it really scared me. The climb down was very slippery and I fell twice. Luckily, we have a very good guide who was wearing the Chinese adidas shoes with very good grip and supported me all the way. Poor guy, he was almost frozen as he was not properly dressed for the weather. Can you imagined how cold it was as we were able to see ice in those puddles of water? Those photos from this site were the exact scenes when we finally arrived at Sayat-Sayat but our fingers were too frozen to take any photos. Crossing the river near Sayat-Sayat was like white water rafting without the raft. Those photos really helps bring back the trills and scarry moments. Luckily, there was no thunder. May I have permission to develop those photos? Thanks and regards, Christine.

Hi Immers,

I am not sure when the photos were taken, as it was sent to me by Cikgu Ismail undated.
Oh, the gentleman in the photo was not the person you are referring to. He is the one who sent me these pictures.
Cheers!

I'd be interested to know when those photo's were taken. We were due to climb to the summit on the morning of Aug 4th but because of the weather conditions the summit was closed.I believe it was closed also on the 2nd and 3rd of August.
Is the gentleman in the photo, the person who was trying to create a record for consecutive climbs to the summit? We met him at Laban Rata.

Usually the guides and Sabah Park Renjers will advise not to continue the climbing, until the rain stopped, and the current is not strong.

It is really dangerous to continue with the water.
